A Residency where independents weave a practice of play.
Residency
40 days
The Dept.
DOORS OPEN MAY 5
If your work has plateaued or just feels flat, blah, same-same, it’s probably because nothing new is emerging. You’re not playing. There’s no regular practice to work with new ideas, run small experiments, take creative risks. Over this 40-day Residency you weave your own practice of play, so your work feels alive again. Play might just become your new priority.
Independents tend to have a Notes app full of half-formed ideas, potential projects pulling at them, so many open tabs, but no regular practice to work with any of it.
We typically don’t play as part of our own work. It’s like a maybe later thing, probably because there isn’t an immediate ROI. But if nothing is being explored, nothing new emerges. And things plateau.
During the Residency you’ll weave your practice of play as you actually play. No upfront strategy or playbooks, its developed in the doing. And over 40 days you’ll find you’re more curious, in flow, less attached to metrics, your POV sharpens, your work differentiates, new directions appear. Play is serious. And it’ll likely become a priority in your week.
